Information we use

We use your account email, authentication information, preferences, and the portfolio information you enter or import. This can include accounts, holdings, cash balances, transactions, distributions, and import records. Passwords are stored as hashes rather than readable passwords.

We use this information to operate your account, prepare reports and analysis, provide support, and send account-related messages, such as verification and import-status emails. Operational records help us investigate errors and maintain the service.

Billing and connected accounts

Stripe handles subscription checkout and billing. Information you provide through Stripe is processed by Stripe. Yieldello stores customer and subscription identifiers and billing status to associate your subscription with your account and provide the corresponding plan access.

If brokerage connections are available to you and you choose to connect an account, SnapTrade provides connection and account identifiers and available holdings, cash balances, and activity history for import and reporting. Connecting a brokerage is optional; manual entry and supported CSV imports are separate ways to add your information.

We also use trusted service providers to host Yieldello and store its data, send email, monitor errors, and help keep the service secure. Information needed to provide these services is processed through those providers, some of which may store or process it outside Canada, including in the United States. Information stored or processed in another country may be accessible to authorities there under that country's laws. Stripe and SnapTrade also have their own privacy policies governing their services.

AI assistants

You can choose to connect an AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to Yieldello. With your permission it can read your accounts, holdings, and income, and send income and holdings for you to review. Nothing it sends is saved until you review and save it in Yieldello.

Information the assistant reads from Yieldello, and anything you share with it, is handled by the assistant's provider under that provider's own terms and privacy policy. Yieldello keeps a record of the connection, including the assistant's name, and of the updates it sends.

Connecting an assistant is optional. To end a connection, remove Yieldello in the assistant's settings or contact support. Changing your Yieldello password also ends every assistant connection.

Cookies and preferences

Yieldello uses session information to keep you signed in and browser storage to remember preferences, such as your selected color theme.

Keeping or deleting your information

Cancelling Pro or downgrading to Free does not delete your Yieldello account or portfolio information. Disconnecting a brokerage stops future imports from that connection but does not automatically erase information already imported into Yieldello.

To close your Yieldello account, contact support@yieldello.com and tell us whether you want your portfolio information deleted or retained for a possible return. Account closure and deletion requests are handled through support. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.

Deleting portfolio information does not necessarily remove every record held by billing providers, in operational logs, or in backups at the same time. Information required for legal, accounting, or security purposes may need to be retained. Contact us to discuss what your request covers.
